These are the traits ive come to known
within myself
I look in the mirror
and what do i see?
A broken person staring back at me.

i am the girl with
more faith in myths than in
the future.
there are more dead bodies in this world than the living.
and if that doesn't frighten you, then i
don't know what would. i guess you could
say that graves are just the closets in which
we hide our skeletons in.
{but don't
forget to
throw away
the keys}
there are ghosts all around us.
and i think that maybe,
just maybe,
i'd rather take my chances down in
the underworld with them than up
here where the earth is slowly
dying—
all because of the living.

Have you ever cried yourself to sleep?
And if someone asked you that,
how would you answer?
Truth be told, I used to -
Just lie in bed and think,
think about every single thing
and how I felt about it...
what it meant to me.
But I'll just say no,
because I don't want you to know
about how weak I am.
And it is when all is silent,
the tears will slide slowly,
soaking your pillow.
Like a movie,
the scene plays out in your head
of all those times when you were
bullied, hurt,
damaged and broken.
Replayed and replayed until
all the images end up blur and disjointed.

Turned away from your “friends”
Been bullied
Been stereotyped
Tortured yourself over an error
Hated yourself…
Wished,
Dreamed,
Lost,
Died inside,
Feared.
If you are a victim…
Remember to stay strong.

this is really good. I actually have a poem that I wrote about a year ago called Broken. its kind of similar but I PROMISE I didn't steal anything. this is my first time reading this poem and I couldn't have stolen this because I just found out about DeviantArt.com 2-3 weeks ago.
